The Video Garage is a Boston-based media production company that specializes in high-end, B2B & Educational media production.
We partner with innovative and mission-based clients to realize their visions through professional videography, photography, 3D images, animation, and more.
Our goal is to become your long-term partner, and for every project to represent a pivotal moment in our client's success story.
We work with startups and research labs in the STEM space, small and medium sized businesses across virtually all industries, Fortune 500 companies, and world-class educational institutions in Boston, Cambridge and across the globe.
While our primary focus is on media production, whether that be photography or cinematic video, we are more than just a production company that can execute on a concept. We're also obsessed with creating a comfortable, fun, and exciting environment when it comes to being on set with our clients, whether in our studio or on location. OUR COMPANY HISTORY
2017 - COMPANY START
Roger Metcalf after 6 years as Content Manager at America's Test Kitchen, and more than 15 years as a freelance photographer and cinematographer, founds The Video Garage in Watertown, MA.2018 - TEAM EXPANSION
Jeremy Hammel, a freelance producer and Roger's long-running production partner joins the team to direct the post-production of our first major online-education projects with a large business consulting firm.
We also began partnering heavily with Amanda McGrady, a highly-revered Boston based cinematographer who now leads our camera department and brings years of corporate, narrative film, documentary & broadcast tv experience to our team.
2020 - OUR FIRST BOSTON STUDIO
Despite the challenges of a pandemic, the need for video production and live-streaming for our partners soars, we end the year ahead of 2019, despite a nearly 3-month pause on productions, and we open our first studio in Boston in June of 2020.2021 - NEW STUDIO & CORE TEAM EXPANSION
We outgrew our first two studios in short order, and now occupy a large production & office space in the Allston area of Boston, where we both film projects in our studio as well as house post-production facilities.
Our team also expanded with the addition of Catherine Fiore, our Project Coordinator, and Andrea Hoerner, our Lead Creative Strategist.
